NSW Low Fuel Regulations for Cruise Ships

28 May: Environment Minister Mark Speakman said the government was on track to deliver low sulphur fuel regulations for cruise ships in all NSW ports.

Mr Speakman said that the government was on schedule to fulfil its election commitment of a regulation starting on 1 July 2016 requiring cruise ships in all NSW ports to use fuel with a sulphur content of 0.1 per cent or less.

"In addition, the Government is on target to have an interim low sulphur regulation in place for the start of the next cruise season for cruise ships berthing in Sydney," he said.
